Railway tech, equipment expo kicks off in Beijing

BEIJING -- Modern Railways 2023, an expo showcasing latest railway technology and equipment, kicked off in Beijing on Tuesday.
The expo will last until Thursday, with nearly 400 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions participating. It is jointly approved by the Ministry of Commerce and the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. (China Railway), and organized by the China Academy of Railway Sciences Corporation Limited and the China World Trade Center Co., Ltd.
Covering over 30,000 square meters, the exhibition showcased the latest technologies and products of the whole railway industry chain.
Modern Railways has been growing into a leading railway show in Asia, as well as an international exhibition establishing the communicating platform for the railway industry, playing a positive role in strengthening international cooperation, while promoting the development and innovation of Chinese railway technology, according to the expo's website.
The 4th Railway Cooperation & Development Forum is also being held during the exhibition, which has been held once every two years since 1992.
Participants at the forum held in-depth discussions and exchanged views on jointly building greener, smarter, more efficient, interconnected and safe railways, and better serving the economic and social development of various countries to boost modernization.
