Online forum held for meteorological careers

Meteorological experts from across the globe shared their views on the development of meteorological careers online and offline, in Beijing on Thursday.
Speaking at the International Forum on High-quality Meteorological Development, they appealed for more cooperation on monitoring and forecasting of the weather.
Petteri Taalas, secretary-general of the World Meteorological Organization, said that the China Meteorological Administration has aan advanced infrastructure, sophisticated observation systems and a high-level talent team, which makes it one of the world's leading meteorological departments. He said he is grateful for the administration's assistance in improving meteorological capacity in less developed countries, and its contribution in global greenhouse gas monitoring and climate change adaptation.
Zhuang Guotai, head of the administration, said China is ready to share experience and achievements of meteorological developments with other WMO members and will continue to strengthen the global service provided by Fengyun weather satellites.
