Parachute force capability improves, major says

The parachute force of the People's Liberation Army Air Force is continuing to carry out combat training and upgrade hardware, according to a senior officer of the force.
Major Yu Hailong, a parachute brigade officer, said on Friday morning in Beijing that as result of these efforts, paratroop combat capability is much stronger than before.
"After the military reform started, we have witnessed rapid improvement in our hardware. In May 2020, a domestically-developed, new-type airborne fighting vehicle was delivered to us. At the same time, we have conducted regular training with the Y-20 strategic transport plane, and frequently performed air-drop exercises with heavy-duty weapons," he told reporters before the opening of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress.
The officer, 35, is a deputy to the NPC, the country's top legislature.
With better equipment and weapons, paratroopers now have even greater confidence that they can win a war and are ready to fight for the motherland and its people, according to him.
