South China's Guangdong province saw 45.8 percent growth in cross-border e-commerce revenue last year, accounting for 59.5 percent of national total sales.

Cross-border e-commerce transactions recorded by the province last year, excluding those through couriers, stood at 110.79 billion yuan ($16.1 billion). Of these, 67 percent were exports according to the Guangdong branch of General Administration of Customs.

Customs offices in Guangdong have been advancing smart monitoring of cross-border e-commerce to better promote regulate its development.

Among them, Huangpu Customs cleared 500 million such transactions last year, leading other customs offices across the country for three consecutive years.
