Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said on Tuesday that the voluntary activities by soldiers and officers from the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison should not be over-interpreted.
Referring to the PLA soldiers' help for residents in clearing roadblocks and debris left by radical protesters outside their barracks in Kowloon, Lam said: "If people are helping to clear the road in front of your building, then you feel more obliged to give a helping hand. So, that's the situation."
