In recent protests, small sub-groups of protesters dispatched themselves to besiege governments building, police stations, and occupy major thoroughfares. They scattered and switched locations when police used tear gas to disperse them, vandalizing and causing disruptions from place to place.

On Saturday, protesters deviated from the planned rally in Tai Po, moving to Tai Wai, Sha Tin, Tsim Sha Tsui and the Cross-Harbour Tunnel in Hung Hom.

Traffic along the tunnel — the busiest of the three major cross-harbor tunnels in the city — has been disrupted for the fifth time in a week. There were no prior warnings from the protesters before the obstruction each time.
