New cement concrete developed in China

BEIJING -- Chinese researchers have developed a new type of cement concrete using natural soil as well as wind-blown sand, according to media report.
The new green, low-cost cement concrete, developed by the research team of Xinjiang Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd, also makes use of construction and industry waste and residue, the Science and Technology Daily reported Thursday.
The new cement concrete, containing natural soil material, wind-blown sand, construction waste and steel slag, could halve both the construction cost and construction time, according to the newspaper report.
It can be widely used in the infrastructure construction of roads, railways and airports, agriculture, forestry, water conservancy, electric power and mining projects.
The new cement concrete has been put into use, said the newspaper.
