China will evaluate the influence and reserve the right to take corresponding measures after the United States announced restriction measures on Chinese investments and exports to China, the Ministry of Commerce said Thursday.

"We have noted these measures that the US plans to introduce," the ministry's spokesman Gao Feng said in remarks at a regular news conference. "China believes that these measures do not conform to the basic principles and spirit of the World Trade Organization."

The ministry's comments came after White House said Tuesday that it would implement specific investment restrictions and tighten export controls for Chinese people and businesses "related to the acquisition of industrially significant technology" as a method to ensure national security.

The Trump administration will announce the list of covered imports subject to tariffs and proposed investment restrictions by June 15 and June 30 respectively, it said.
