Handicapped CPC delegate serves villages

Ma Gongzhi, a delegate of the 18th CPC National Congress, is a film projectionist in rural areas of Bolin town, Yongxing county, Hunan province. He lost the use of his legs when they were seriously affected by poliomyelitis at age 5. With the help of his parents, Ma has undergone eight years of training, relearning how to stand and walk. In the past 24 years, the 1.42-meter (4.66-foot) man has traveled to more than 1,000 villages, projecting films more than 11,000 times. Carrying machines heavier than himself, he has walked over 200,000 kilometers. More than 2.5 million people have watched films he has projected.
