PLA honored models: Huang Jiguang

Huang Jiguang, male, Han nationality, was born in Zhongjiang county, Sichuan province. He joined the Chinese People's Volunteers in March 1951. He fought bravely and won a third-class merit citation.
During the Shangganling Battle of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in October 1952, Huang Jiguang blocked enemy's loopholes setting off flames inside the blockhouse with his chest for the sake of rapidly eliminating the central firepower of the enemy and seizing the No 0 position, thus sacrificing his life bravely.
After the battle, he was posthumously admitted to the membership of the Communist Party of China, was awarded a special-class merit and was conferred with the title of "Special-Class Hero". The Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea posthumously granted him with the title of "Hero of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea", a Gold-Star Medal and a First-Class Medal of National Flag.
